Dosolsan Mountain in Yanggu area is surrounded by rough forest areas of altitudes about 1,148m. It has dense fog around during summer. This rugged mountain has thick forests and deep valleys and was a strategic battlefront during the Korean War. So this area led to a fierce battle during the Korean War.
围绕海岸盆地的杨口郡兜率山一带是海拔达到1,148米的险峻的山岳地带,高地重叠,每到夏季烟雾很重的地区。而且,就如平地,广阔的天然海岸盆地不仅是聚集战争时执行作战的兵力与物资,而且在休战会谈时,对选定军事分界线位置具有非常重要影响的地方。所以,6.25战争时,以该附近为中心,展开了激烈的战斗。
The fierce ‘Dosolsan Mountain Battle’ is 17 days of Republic Of Korea Marine Corps battle that is the one of the top 5 battle as victory in the V Corps 12th and 32th division with the purpose of securing Punch Bowl where is a 1st regiment strategic location on June 4 to 20,1951. Memorial Stone for Dosolsan Mountain Battle was set up at Yanggu that is large-scale cultural festival is held to pay tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting for peace.
兜率山战斗自1951年6月4日开始到20日为止共17天期间,韩国海军第1联队为了确保作为战略要地的Punch Bowl为目的,在北韩军第5军团12师团与32师团防御的兜率山,恶战苦斗的血战结果取得胜利的海兵队五大战斗之一。由此,杨口郡竖立兜率山地区战斗慰灵碑,纪念着兜率山战斗的胜利与护国勇士的灵魂。
