The rock, derived from Gyeongnam of Ulsan, which was going towards Geumgangsan Mountain becomes representative scenery of Seoraksan Mountain.
向着金刚山过去的庆南蔚山的岩石，成为雪岳山的代表性绝景
Ulsan Rock is located on the 873m altitude edge of Seoraksan Mountain, where Goseong and Sokcho meets and forms a boundary. The six peaks, formed of unique rock cliffs, vaunt its distinctive scenery. While the Ulsan Rock makes you feel both nature and artistic quality, different stories are passed down about it. The first story about its origin of name claims that it is named ‘Ulsan’ because it resembles a fence (Ultari). The second claims that it was named so for its sound similar to rumbling and crying. The other says it is named after the province Ulsan of Gyeongnam. Among these stories, an interesting legend is embedded.
它是位于高城与束草为界的雪岳山末端的海拔873米的蔚山岩。独特的奇岩绝壁形成的六个山峰展现秀丽的景观。同时感受自然的伟大与艺术性的蔚山岩，相传各种故事。与‘蔚山岩’之名相关的故事中，第一个是岩石模样像栅栏而称为‘蔚山’，第二个是下雨雷鸣时，山里发出轰隆的哭声而称为‘哭泣的山’之意的‘蔚山’，第三个是引用庆南蔚山的地名而起的‘蔚山’。在这三个故事中，第三个故事有个有趣的传说。
Once upon a time, the creator assembled all the handsome rocks to Mt.Geumgang to make its scenery beautiful. The rock that used to be in Gyeongsangnam-do, Ulsan, started on its journey too, but it was slowed down due to its heavy weight and large size. It barely made mark in Seoraksan Mountain, but it anchored itself there since Mt. Geumgang was already finished. Ulsan Rock is one of the superb views of Seoraksan Mountain, and it is also a representative touring spot in Goseong. If you’ve found Goseong, remember to confirm its majesty with your own eyes.
古时候，造物主为了完成金刚山的景观，将全国美观的岩石聚集在金刚山。庆尚南道蔚山的岩石也向着金刚山出发，但因为硕大而体重，脚步自然较慢。结果，到达雪岳山的时候，金刚山已经完成，而该岩石就在现在的位置扎根。雪岳山的绝景之一的同时又是高城代表性观光地的蔚山岩。如果访问高城，就一定要亲自确认蔚山岩的绝景。
