The great scenery made by a huge rock in the middle of a deep and silent pond
水深而宁静的莲池，耸立的巨大岩石展现的雄壮风景
Hwajeokyeon refers to a superb view created by a deep pond and a humongous rock in the borders of GwanIn-myeon, Sajeong-ri and Yeongbuk-myeon, JaIl-ri, where Hantangang River makes its way through. It is named so for its rock raised above the river, looking like a stash of hay. The area of Hantangang River, where Hwajeokyeon is located, provides a great view of granite, basalt, sand, and pebbles altogether. This view also assists tourists to observe the topographic characteristics.
禾积渊是位于汉滩江悠然流淌的抱川市永北面自逸里与官仁面射亭里的境界的巨大的花岗岩岩石与深深的莲池形成的绝景。在江水上面威风堂堂地耸立的岩石就像堆积稻草的模样，故起名为‘禾积’。禾积渊所在的汉滩江地区，玄武岩层与花岗岩岩盘、沙子与碎石混在一起，成为可以观察罕见的地形特性地方
Also, the following story is handed down in Hwajeokyeon. One day, an old farmer, sitting in the pond, resented the skies for the 3 year-long drought. He sighed, ‘Leaving all this plenty water, should you dry the grains out? The heavens are inconsiderate, and the dragon must be sleeping for all those years.’ Then suddenly, a dragon’s head came up from the lake and went up to the sky. Rain fell from that night and it brought good harvests. It is told that a tradition of rainmaking was done in Hwajeokyeon from that day.
而且，禾积渊还相传这样的故事。某一天，有位老农夫遭受连续三年的干旱，就坐在莲池边怨天，叹息道：‘留下这么多水还要枯死粮食，道理何在呀？上天无心，还是龙王在三年期间酣睡啊’。这时候，突然间湖里的龙王从湖水中伸出头来，摆着尾巴升到天上，当天夜里开始下雨，成为大丰收。此后形成一个风俗，每到干旱，当地人们到禾积渊举行祈雨祭。
