The DMZ, a long-forgotten land as well as a battleground of the Korean War, has now become the home and playground of rare animals and plants. The DMZ is getting the attention of the world because of its biodiversity and ecological value. Now, it’s time to discuss how to keep and grow this area.

It’s a large land(907㎢), one-250th of the entire Korean Peninsula(220,000㎢), based on land area. This place in which any grass couldn’t live has become a paradise, where many lives have preserved their primitive forms. There are natural monuments like golden eagles, mandarin ducks and 2,700 species of endangered wildlife like lynxes and wildcats around the DMZ. We will introduce the creatures that comprise the DMZ ecosystem according to the designation status of the Cultural Heritage Administration and the classification system of the Ministry of Environment

以陆地面积为基准,是整个韩半岛22万㎢的250分之一,达到907 ㎢的宽广土地。 以为寸草不会生长的这里,现在变成了有着很多生命气息带有原始面貌的乐园了。 DMZ乐园里有金雕,鸳鸯这样的天然纪念物还有猞猁,猫狸这样的濒临灭绝的动物,这里生活着野生动植物2700多种。 构成DMZ生态圈的生物由文物厅指定,环境部管理、分类来为大家介绍。
