To praise the work and life of Yugok Yi I, a great scholar from the middle of the Joseon Dynasty

朝鲜中期的大学者栗谷李珥，纪念他的伟大的学问与生涯

 
Yulgok Yi I was the representative scholar along with Lee Hwang in the middle of the Joseon Dynasty. The historic site of Yulgok is located at the foot of Jaunsan Mountain and is composed of 14 tombs of Yulgok and his wife, Goksan Mrs. No, as well as his parents, Yi Wonsu and Shin Saimdang, and the place where Jaunseowon Confucian Academy enshrined his tablet. Jaunseowon was established in the seventh year of King Gwanghaegun in the Joseon era (1615) to cherish his virtue and study, and it received the name “Jaun”, from King Hyojong (1650). It holds the Yulgok Cultural Festival every year. In addition, there are remains, such as Jaunseowon Myojeongbi and Yi I Sindobi, and a Yulgok Memorial Hall to display his relics and biography.

栗谷李珥与李滉是朝鲜中期成为儒学界两大支柱的代表性学者。位于紫云山脚的栗谷先生遗迹地包括栗谷先生及其夫人谷山卢氏之墓，由备有他的父母李元秀与申师任堂的合葬墓等为主的14座墓的墓域、供奉他的牌位的紫云书院为主组成。紫云书院是在朝鲜光海君7年（1615年），为了追慕栗谷先生的学问与德行而建，孝宗元年（1650年）受赐‘紫云’悬匾的赐匾书院。这里为中心，每年举行栗谷文化祭。此外还有展示紫云书院庙庭碑与李珥先生神道碑等遗迹、栗谷先生的遗物与一生的栗谷纪念馆。栗谷先生遗迹地被指定为史迹第525号，成为受到保护的珍贵的文化财产。

The historic site of Yulgok is famous as a picnic site for the public. You can go through the entrance with a pole standing upright and see the open lawn. Above the lawn, there is a pond with lotus in full boom in summer. The surrounding area of the Yulgok grave has a good trail with cooling shade from a dense pine forest. There are neighboring tourist attractions, such as Hwaseokjung for which Yulgok wrote the poem and meditated, Imjingak and Heyri Art Village.

而且，栗谷先生遗迹地作为市民的外游场所广泛利用。经过祭杆耸立的入口走进去，就可以看到迎接访客的宽敞的草坪。草坪上面有小莲池，每到夏天绽开华丽的莲花。栗谷先生墓域周围有郁郁苍苍的松树，形成清爽的遮阳空间，作为散步路径有很大的人气。周围有栗谷先生经常过来作诗并冥想的花石亭，并与临津阁、Heyri文化艺术村等邻近，很适合做同时访问的观光路径。
