Only mountain which can look around the North Korea while hiking

The Godaesan Mountain is located at altitude of 832.1m which is boundary between Yeoncheon-gun in Shinseo-myeon, Gyeonggi-do and Chulwon-eup, Chulwon-gun, Gangwon-do. You can hike direct from the Shintanri station which is 10 minutes walking distance from the point of where Gyeongwon rail way ended on the way of Geumgangsan Mountain. Also, It is loved by nearest hiking place of the Military Demarcation Line. You can see the Chulwon plain and North Korea from top of the Godaesan Mountain which is proudly showing the well made hiking trail and nice view. That is the reason why a lot of people visit even weekdays.

高台山是位于京畿道涟川郡新西面与江原道铁原郡铁原邑境界的海拔832.1米的山。去往金刚山的路径有个京元线铁道中断地点的新炭里站，因为只有步行十分钟距离，很多人都是从新炭里站开始直接登山。而且，现在作为离军事分界线最近的登山地区受到青睐。顺着管理良好的登山路，登上前景秀丽的高台山山顶，就可以看到眼前广宽的铁原平野与北韩。因为这样，平时也有很多登山客来到高台山。

They called Godaesan Mountain as ‘Big whale’ in Shintan-ri area but origin is not that clear. The Godaesan Mountain which has lots of resources was well known for hard black charcoal complex before the 6.25 war. Even ecosystem is well preserved, you can see the wild flowers such as Chuhnyeochima, Ulreji, Boksucho and etc. You should not forget to mention about Godaesan Montain’s famous view, Pyobeom Fall (Leopard fall). You can even feel refrigerant when you see the water falls from the cracks of rock. Also, when the winter comes to Godaesan Mountain, it is one of joy to visit old tunnel around it. It gives new things to look around the ‘opposite icicle’ from the ground.

在新炭里地区，称高台山为‘大海豚’，但其由来却无法考证。因为丛林特别郁郁苍苍，林产资源丰富的高台山，在6.25战争之前作为著名的木炭园区而闻名。生态系保存良好，到处可以看到处女裙子（Heloniopsis Koreana Fuse & al.）、山芋头、冰凉花等野花。高台山不可或缺的秘境是豹子瀑布。顺着裂开的岩石缝隙流下来的清心的水流，直到心底感觉到清爽。而且，冬季值得去看高台山邻近的废弃洞窟。从地上往上耸起的‘逆向冰柱’又是一个新的景色。
