Cheorwon hyanggyo Confucian School, the important place of Cheorwon’s moral culture

起到铁原精神文化的核心作用的地方，铁原乡校

 
Cherwon hyanggyo was founded in King Wang Geon’s private residence at the time of Taebongguk, but the date of construction was unknown. It was reconstructed by Confucian scholars for King Seonjo of Joseon Dynasty (1568), but it completely burned down during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. After that, in the 15th year of King Injo (1637), it was rebuilt by Confucian scholars, and Yu Heungjong, who was the governor, added Daeseogjeon and Myeongnyundang under the Japanese occupation. After the independence, the property was confiscated and it was used for an orphanage under the rule of the communists, and it was finally destroyed in the Korean War. It could not be rebuilt because the original location belonged to the restricted civilian area, so it was relocated and rebuilt in the current location with Daeseonjeon and Myeongnyundang.

铁原乡校建立在泰封国时期王建的私邸遗址，而建立时期则不详。朝鲜宣祖元年（1568年）由儒林重建，但壬辰倭乱当时遭受火灾并被烧毁。此后，仁祖15年（1637年）由儒林重建，日帝强占期时郡守柳兴锺增建大成殿与明轮堂。解放后在共产治下，财产被没收，成为孤儿院，6.25战争当时被烧毁。本来想收复铁原乡校原来的遗址并重建，但因为位于民间人限制区域内，故而无法重建。现在的铁原乡校迁址之后，重建了包括大成殿与明轮堂的附属建筑物。
