The first foreign culture museum in Korea to display the culture of a far-off land, Latin America

韩国最早外国文化相关博物馆，进入遥远的土地-中南美文化的馨香 
 
Latin America is still unfamiliar to Koreans. However, there is a place in Korea to experience various cultures related to this faraway land.The Latin American Cultural Center was established in Deokyang-gu, Goyang-si in 1992. It shows about 3,000 relics, including representative paintings and sculptures collected bythe Korean ambassador Lee Bokhyung and his wife, Hong Gabpyo, who held diplomatic posts in Latin America for 30 years. It exudes an exotic atmosphere from the entrance to exhibits about ancient Inca, Maya and Aztec civilizations that you have only seen through books and broadcasts. Artwork of modern sculptors working in a dozen Latin American countries is displayed in a sculpture park, and a trail and a place to relax in the green lawn look exotic and creative as if you were in Latin America.

中南美地区对韩国人们来说依然是陌生的土地。但是，如果说有可以在一处感受不容易去的遥远的中南美各种文化的地方呢？高阳市德阳区的中南美文化院，是1992年在中南美长达30多年期间以外交官身份生活的Lee Bokhyung大使及其夫人Hong Gapyo理事长，包括在中南美地区收集的3,000多件遗物，展示该地区代表作家的图片与雕刻的地方。可以窥见这段期间通过书籍或广播接触的古代印加、玛雅、阿芝台克文明真髓的独特的空间，在入口处就可以感受到异国风情。草绿色草坪展现的雕刻公园与散步路、休息空间各处的作品是在中南美十多个国家正在活动的现代雕刻家的作品，一瞬间让我们产生身临何处的错觉，既有独创性，又有独特性。
